It seems like everyday I hear someone say, “I HATE BUSH!” Or my personal favorite, “If I see George Bush on the street, I’m going kick his behind!” (As if Bush would be casually walking thru Greenspoint) Nowadays it is a part of everyday life to blame the Republicans for the hard times that we are all facing. But are the Republicans really the ones to blame? Now I know how loyal people are to their respective political parties, but put your prejudice aside for just one second. |

Although Barack Obama has run a great race and will no doubt be the Democratic nominee for this year’s general election, the question still remains……can a Black man really become the president of the United States? Most people would say yes, but I’m not so sure. During the primaries in Pennsylvania, some voters we quoted as saying that they were simply not ready to put a Black man in the oval office. I think that this is a more common feeling than most people will admit. Sure it’s easy to smile and say, “Its time for this country to have a Black president,” when the cameras are on, but what do people really think when they go into the voting booth. |
